Fairy Wren Magic 3 - Morning Song

Fairy Wren Magic captures the unmistakable feeling of a Canberra winter morning. Fog settles across the landscape, softening the familiar greens, greys and beige hues. Dew clings to spider webs, while bold yellow Billy Buttons and wattles stretch towards the first warmth of the morning sun. Flannel flowers emerge quietly through the muted landscape.

Layered vertically across the work are the highways and waterways of the ACT, creating a map-like connection between the natural and built environments.

This is the Canberra of cold mornings: the fogged windscreen, the chill of the car, and the sight of your own breath as the heater slowly begins to work. Yet there is anticipation beneath the cold—the knowledge that the fog will lift, the sun will break through, and Canberra will become a brilliant blue afternoon.
